The need to organize my home came to me in a flurry: trying to find a pair of earrings a customer had bought. To cut a long story short, I never did find those earrings (and the customer was unhappy). Point being, the earrings were lost in the wrath of my craft room, and I never want anything like that to happen again. I have taken the 'Organized Home' Challenege for 2011, inspired by mousehouse's orgiginal post. I am so excited to finally have a clutter-free house by the end of 2011, one draw at a time! My craft room will be done later in the year, as I am currently moving it out to the bungalow. No pictures until it is complete!

Crayon Roll-Ups
Hello all! It has been a hectic past few days, and I finally have a moment to blog about my newest creation: crayon roll-ups. I made two of these earlier this week for my cousins' sons 2nd & 4th birthdays (they are brothers born on the same day, two years apart). Paired with a colouring book, this was an inexpensive gift that was a hit with everyone!
I've got some custom orders for these - so watch out for more of these beauties in the coming weeks!
And it was a great excuse to use my favourite 'Baby Safari' fabric! |

Buying Handmade
Hello all! What a crazy past few days it has been: lots of movies, lots of sewing, lots of cleaning.
I'd firstly like to touch on the latest movie I watched, 'Black Swan'.
Words cannot express how amazing this movie was. It was beautifully crafted and the way it drags you into its' psychological wrath is thrilling. I would recommend this movie to everyone! I haven't stopped thinking about it.
Secondly, lots of sewing has been done! *phew*. Yesterday I whipped up 5 crayon pouches (some for gifts, some for sale), sewed some of the pink baby blanket, sewed a bunting and planned out some ideas for the ruby&lo kids range! I'm really looking forward to it all coming together. Although, I have to go to uni 5 days a week this semester an I am not looking forward to it one bit.
My playsuits that I ordered as a gift for my niece arrived, and she absolutely adores them! (As do her parents). Kristy over at My Kitchen Table did an amazing job, you should all head over and check out her work!

Aren't they just the sweetest? I'm interested if any of you have seen 'Black Swan' yet...what are your thoughts? Leave them in a comment below!

Project 1 - Linen Cupboard ('Organized Home' Challege 2011)
After reading a wonderfully-inspiring post over at the mousehouse blog, I eagerly took to my linen cupboard to sort out what I really needed. It felt good to rid my cupboard of all the unnecessary items, and that I can donate the sets to those affected by the recent flooding in Queensland. Perfect!
I am so pleased with how things turned out, and I am going to try and do one of these posts each month. Tupperware draw, pantry, laundry, craft room...here I come!
Brace yourselves...before:
And after! Look at the difference:

(Sorry for the poor quality) As you can see, things are just shoved in, not in their correct places and things would actually fall out when I opened the door! |
Things are neatly folded and put in their right spot. |

Fabric Finds
Hi all! Yesterday my day was spent at Lincraft, buying out all of their cute fabric! This post is image heavy - I think this is the biggest fabric finds post so far!
This gorgeous fabric is for my cousin's new baby. The plain pink at the bottom will be the base and the 4 patterned pieces will be the patchwork squares. |
Close up of the butterflies, I also have this in blue and yellow, but I secretly hope she has a girl! |
This is also in blue, I think it is super cute. |
Now for the blue quilt! I'm yet to find a backing piece in the right shade of blue, but I've still got time. |
This Gingham chicken fabric is to die for! |
I love the little polka dots on the wing & tail. |
As you can see, the top 3 fabrics are the same as the pink fabrics. |
These are going to be turned into some buntings! |
Rainbow polka dot, navy & white, red & white and blue & white striped. |
By far my favourite fabric! |
Not sure what I can make with it yet. Maybe part of a bunting? Send me your suggestions! |
I bought these because they were so cheap and I'm sure they will go to good use! |
Lemon butterflies. |
I also bought a meter extra of the pink polka dot and pink butterflies to make something for my baby cousin whose house was flooded in the recent QLD floods. |
Close up. |
The leaning tower of fabric! |
I am thinking of doing a fabric giveaway sometime soon....but for now, what's your favourite fabric in this post? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Fabric Finds
These two prints are my latest Fabric Finds, bought on Saturday! I am thinking that the red, black and white will make some pouches and place mats, and the circles will be great for some kid's items.
Also, this blog will soon be featuring lots of pink and blue! My cousin has announced her pregnancy and I have 23 weeks (give or take) to create two baby blankets (one boy and one girl). She isn't finding out the sex, however I think it's going to be a girl :) :) :) but whichever quilt that doesn't get gifted will be sold or maybe even a part of a giveaway :P stay tuned!
